I've had the VU for about 3 weeks now. The battery is fine unless you are on it all the time. Voice dialing works very well. I have coverage now where I didn't with my Razor or my Blackjack. Touchscreen is great. (note to reviewers that had to push the screen hard,… hard doesn't help. recalibrate your screen.) Mine works great. You can get on the net but it is hard to navigate. Text messaging takes a bit to get used to. Buttons are small but now that I am used to it, I can text with my thumbs just fine. Anyone trying to listen to music through the phone speaker is, well, silly. It comes with stereo headphones, use them. This is not an I-phone. It doesn't try to be. It is just a great phone, just that. Enjoy it.
Pro : great touch screen, easy menus, slick design, good signal strength
Con : not great for internet

This Phone is amazing you can watch TV on it use the internet and listen to your music. The I phone Doesn't offer TV The Touch screen is amazing and really responsive. It has a great QWERT keyboard on the screen for texting and you can text with the numbers the old fashion was. I love this phone

I bought it 2 weeks back and really hated it.
1)I didnt feel it made justice to the name of a touch phone.I had to press it quite hard .
    2)No Accelerometer
3)Very very bad video(even a high quality video would be shown bad in this screen.
4)Audio you need to put it near the ear to hear the song playing .

Don't get fooled by the free offers the phone is not worth even for free.

If you really want a touch phone go for iphone i went for it and boy i never even thought that i made a mistake.
    Pro : Stylish
    Con : Touch not responsive,Weak Audio,Terrible Video

I hate to be a sore loser, but the LG Vu just didn't cut it for me. I previously had a Blackberry Curve and I found out that the LG Vu cannot even compare with the curve. First of all, the battery life is HORRIBLE (for real) it will be fully charged in the morning and by the evening it is completely dead! and all I use is the internet for about an hour and talk for an hour. It really annoys me when I have to charge my phone every time I really want to use it. A next thing that aggravated me like crazyyy was the accuracy of the touch screen. For example, I will browsing a website and I will have to click on a link about 10-15 times for it to click. Also, whenever I am texting or typing in a phone number, it types an ENTIRELY different thing because like i said THE ACCURACY IS BAD. I then found out that I could not add my email account to the phone (I have microsoft outlook for my email provider). One more thing is that it didnt even come with any free games loaded onto the phone, it had 3 games only with trials. By the way, did I mention my good ole blackberry curve could do ALL of these things wayyy better. :) So, I had the LG for about a week and currently selling it on Ebay (Good riddens!) I will be getting back a new blackberry curve or 8800. No more touch screen for me.

I have both IPHONE 3G and LG VU.

If internet is important then IPHONE walks all over LG VU, including the Wi-FI support. But you will pay for IPHONE data plan 30/mon per phone. I would not consider buying an internet phone without wi-fi.

TEXT MSG seems to be a push between them.

LG is hardly customizable, so if you don't use internet, many ICONS just get in your way and you are afraid to touch them for fear of incurring data charges.

You always have to punch a button to do anything and wake up VU.

Much cheaper construction for VU. But VU has micro SD slot and IPHONE doesn't.

Not sure about GPS capability of VU, Very good GPS in IPHONE3G.

MP3 play is better in Iphone, usable in VU. But you can use Windows Media player with Vu, Itunes is dynasour SW with IPHONE.
Can't sync contact lists like IPHONE. IPHONE has large custom apps support base.
Pro : sharp display, landscape keyboard, accurate touchscreen
Con : Much less capable than IPHONE

I got this phone 2 days ago, and feel I need to put out some warnings. If you can get by these "side effects" then it's a great phone.

    1) No flash on the camera. Despite the closely modeled Slider having a flash, the VU does not have a flash. Don't be confused by this point.

    2) MicroSD card - While there is a slot for a MicroSD card, when I put my 1GB card in the phone developed a glitch. With the card installed, if I left the phone idle for 20 minutes, the phone would freeze and become non-responsive to any stimulus. (physical buttons, touch screen, or adding the power supply.)

I had to remove and replace the battery to be able to turn the phone on again.

The exception to this "deep sleep glitch" was when the phone was plugged in over night. I woke up in the morning and the phone wasn't in the "deep sleep glitch", but unplugging it and letting it sit for 20 minutes resulted in the glitch.

I removed the SD card this morning and so far, no problems at all.

    3) Customization. By going under the display menu, you can turn on or off a shortcut menu that sits in the middle of your main screen. 8 buttons are on the shortcut menu: CV, Music, New Msg, Bluetooth, IM, MEdia Net, Calendar, Voice Cmd.

If you wanted to shortcut to something else, I haven't found a way to do that yet.

    4) Music Player. While the sound of an MP3 is actually quite good, if you back out of a song and are just done listening, there is no way to close the music player application. It just sits there waiting for you to resume listening to music.
