A quick story to shed some light on this subject.I have a friend that just bought the Blackberry Curve a few weeks ago.He went all crazy because it had so many cool features and to put it mildly,he acted like a twelve year old that just got a new bike.
Anyhow,a couple weeks go by and he tells me that he is selling the Blackberr Curve for another cell phone.I obviously ask why because he was all excited and pumped that he got this cool piece of technology. They basically said that it had too many features that he didn’t need and that he realized he went a little feature frenzy without first seeing how practical these features were to him.He doesn’t need to reply to or send out emails all day.He doesn’t network or need any daily organizer. He definately doesn’t need a gps along with some of the other cool features the Blackberry boasts. You see,my friend is a simple man that doesn’t need much.He likes his camera and video recording - which by the way the Blackberry Curve has.Thats it.Why did he get a cell phone that was pretty much to him a mini computer.Thats crazy.
Let me just be clear by saying that in no way am i putting down the Blackberry Curve. It is a crazy cool cell phone which my wife and few friends have. Now,the reason they love it is because it is very functional for them.My wife is a business woman that needs to respond to emails as soon as ther’re delivered. She also needs the gps because she travels around everywhere for business. She needs the organizational features to manage day to day assignments and keep on top of dates, times etc..
Whats functional for one may not be for another.Features are crazy cool but only if you actually use them and they provide some sort of functionality for you. That is the whole point of this post, for you to understand that so you don’t waste your money on an electronic gadget with 1000 features only to find out you only need 5 of those features.Be smart and always be an informed consumer.
